Questions owners ask
What does a business coach do?
A good one helps you get more from the business you already own: more profit, a team that runs it without you, and the payoff you built it for, whether that’s dividends or time back with your family. I do it with challenge, accountability and what has worked in the businesses I own, then I hold you to doing it in yours.
What’s the difference between a business coach and a business mentor?
A coach asks the questions that get you to your own answers. A mentor has done it and tells you what worked. Most owners need both, and that’s how I work: the hard questions, and a straight answer from someone running businesses today when you need one.
Who does Dr Lewis Haydon work with?
Owners of established businesses, from about £250k turnover scaling to £1m and on to £20m. Not start-ups. Owners come from sectors including care, recruitment, construction, manufacturing, IT, property and accountancy.
Is a business coach worth it?
Only if it shows in your own numbers: what you take home, the hours you work and how much of the business runs without you. Measure those. Coaching with me runs month to month on 30 days’ notice, so it has to keep earning its place.
How is Dr Lewis Haydon different from other business coaches?
I own and invest in businesses now, so what I bring has been tested in my own businesses this year, not in a success story from years ago. It’s built on evidence and data rather than opinion or a one-size-fits-all system: from my doctorate, the Mentor Business Podcast and the businesses I run. And my prices are on the website.
How much should I pay for a business coach?
In the UK, one-to-one business coaching usually costs £1,000 to £3,000 a month; group programmes £200 to £1,000; executive coaching £200 to £450 an hour. Pay for the results you can measure in your own numbers, not the hours. In Birmingham, or anywhere in the UK on Zoom, my mentoring is from £800 a month plus VAT, and every price is published.
How much does business mentoring with Dr Lewis Haydon cost?
Business mentoring from £800 a month plus VAT, with tiers at £1,600, £2,500 and £3,500 a month. A planning day is £2,000 plus VAT. The 30-minute virtual coffee is free. Every price is on lewishaydon.com/pricing/.
Is there a minimum contract?
No. Coaching runs month to month, with no fixed-term contract. If you want to stop, give 30 days’ notice.
What happens on a virtual coffee?
Thirty minutes on Zoom with me. Bring your biggest question about scaling the business. You’ll leave clear on your next step: one you can take yourself, or the options for my support, if that makes sense.
Where is Dr Lewis Haydon based?
At 71 Vyse Street in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, UK. Planning days happen in person at the owner’s office, across the Midlands and anywhere in the UK; monthly sessions run in person or on Zoom for owners anywhere.
